2A Regroups in Subtraction

The students in 2A are becoming masters of subtraction with regrouping! First, we played a fun game to help us understand the concept of regrouping. To play the game, we took turns rolling dice and taking away that many ones cubes. If there were not enough ones to take away, we had to exchange a tens stick for ten more ones. Then, we applied this concept to math problems and learned a poem (complete with hand motions!) to remind us when to regroup and when not to regroup.
