Today the 2nd grade took an important trip to Congregation Beth Tefillah right here in Paramus. There we met with an actual sofer who taught us all about how a Sefer Torah is written!
We had an opportunity to write our Hebrew names on real klaf (parchment), using a kulmus (quill) dipped in diyo (ink) in the special script with the crowns that is used in a Torah scroll. Rav Ronen also helped us practice reading our pasukim from the Sefer Torah in the sanctuary.
Every day now we are getting closer to receiving our very first Chumashim. We sure feel ready now!
