Today we launched a new unit in Writing Workshop! For the next few weeks, we will be learning how to state our opinions, provide reasons, and convince others. Today we kicked off the unit by thinking about different topics we have opinions about. The students looked at pictures of vacations, famous paintings, and listened to a read aloud. Following each activity, they wrote down a related opinion. We wrapped up the lesson by listing the many, many topics we have opinions about ranging from favorite foods to no homework nights!
