2A Hebrew: Asher Yatzar+ pictures2

Yesterday we focused on the Bracha of Asher Yatzar. This is the next Tefillah that is being highlighted as part of a school-wide Tefillah project.

We discussed the meaning and significance of the words in the Tefillah. For example, the Tefillah says that our body has "חלולים" or openings for impurities to come out of, just like a "חליל", or flute, has openings for sound to come out of. And just like a flute wouldn't work properly if one of the openings in it was closed, likewise our bodies wouldn't work if one of the openings in our body was closed. The children quickly realized how important it is to say Asher Yatzar, so that we can thank Hashem for allowing our bodies to work properly.

After the discussion the children decorated pictures of washing cups and glued the Ashenazi of Sefardi version of Asher Yatzar onto the pictures.

The children came away from the lesson with a deeper appreciation of the Bracha of Asher Yatzar, and had a great time as well!
