Dear Parents,
I hope you are well!
Here's what we have covered this week in 2nd Grade Chumash:
We have begun to learn the Ta'ameh Hamikra which we will utilize both in the classroom and for our Mesibat HaChumash later in the year.
We met Noach who came all the way from the past with his alligator and told us why Hashem chose him to build the ark and be saved. He explained that it took him many years to build his ark because Hashem wanted to give those he was surrounded by a chance to repent.
When they didn't, Hashem told Noach to collect all the animals in the world and bring them onto his ark. He gathered a pair of all the animals that were not kosher, and seven pairs of the kosher animals.
We have also begun working in our workbooks.
This week's parsha is Ki Tavo. It discusses how we entered into Eretz Israel and talks about the ma'aser (10% tithe) that we needed to give the Kohanim. We also talked about Rabbi Pinchas ben Yair who told us about mice who entered a town and how to get rid of them.
Shabbat Shalom,
Rav Yochanan
